Introducing the Hyaluronic Acid Capsule Cream: What Multi-Weight Hydration Actually Means

The Hyaluronic Acid Capsule Cream is our new daily moisturiser, built around tiny capsules of hyaluronic acid that burst the moment they touch your skin, releasing several different molecular weights of the ingredient at once instead of just one. That matters because different weights of hyaluronic acid sit at different depths in skin, so this cream hydrates the surface and slightly beneath it in the same application. It's rich enough for skin that finds gel moisturisers thin, and light enough for skin that finds winter creams heavy.

We built this one because we kept hearing the same complaint from two different directions. People with normal to oily skin told us richer creams sat on top and felt greasy by lunchtime. People with dry or compromised skin told us lighter gels felt fine going on but had worn off by early afternoon, leaving that tight, papery feeling back before dinner.

The capsule format and the multi-weight hyaluronic acid inside it were our answer to both problems at once. Here's how it actually works, and how to get the most out of it.

What "multi-weight" hyaluronic acid actually means

Hyaluronic acid isn't one ingredient. It's a family of molecules that come in different sizes, measured by molecular weight. A high molecular weight version is a large molecule that sits on the surface of skin, forms a film, and holds water there like a very thin raincoat. A low molecular weight version is smaller and can move slightly further into the upper layers of skin, carrying moisture with it.

Use only the large molecule and your skin can get surface hydration that feels like it's sitting on top rather than sinking in. Use only the small molecule and you can lose that plump, cushioned surface feel. Combine several weights, which is what "multi-weight" means, and you're hydrating more than one layer at once: a film on top, moisture just beneath it, working together instead of one doing all the work alone.

This isn't a new discovery. Cosmetic chemists have understood molecular weight and skin penetration for years. What's new here is the format we chose to deliver it in.

Why we put it in capsules

Hyaluronic acid isn't a particularly stable ingredient once it's dissolved into a formula and left sitting in a jar for months. It can degrade slowly with repeated exposure to air every time the lid comes off, which is part of why some moisturisers feel a little less effective toward the bottom of the tub than they did on day one.

So instead of dissolving the hyaluronic acid directly into the base, we suspended it in tiny capsules. Those capsules sit protected inside a lightweight gel until you apply the product and they burst open on contact with skin. That means the hyaluronic acid stays potent and stable while it's sitting in your bathroom, and you get the full strength of it on your face, not a diminished version from month three.

You'll actually feel this happen. The texture bursts on contact, moves from a cushioned gel to a fluid, and then settles into skin. It's a small sensory detail, but it's also the entire point of the format.

What squalane and allantoin bring to the formula

Hyaluronic acid pulls water in and holds onto it, but a good moisturiser needs more than one job done well. We added two supporting ingredients that each do something hyaluronic acid can't.

  • Squalane is a lightweight emollient that closely resembles the lipids your skin already produces. It softens skin and helps lock moisture in without the heavy or greasy finish you'd get from a lot of richer oils. It's also non-comedogenic, so it isn't going to clog pores while it's doing that job.
  • Allantoin is a calming, skin-conditioning ingredient with a long track record for soothing and moisturising. It's there to keep the whole formula feeling comfortable on skin, particularly useful if yours gets reactive when the weather turns or when you introduce something new into your routine.

Together with the multi-weight hyaluronic acid, the idea is a cream that hydrates, softens and calms in one step, rather than asking you to layer three separate products to cover the same ground.

How to use it

Simple, by design. Apply it daily to clean, dry skin, morning or night, or both if your skin wants it.

  1. Cleanse and pat skin dry.
  2. If you're layering underneath (more on that below), apply your serum first and give it a minute to settle.
  3. Massage the cream in until fully absorbed. You'll feel the capsules burst as you apply.

That's it. No twenty minute wait between steps, no complicated order of operations to remember.

Who this suits

All skin types, honestly, which is part of why we made it this way. But it's a particularly good fit if you've been stuck between two options that never quite worked. If your winter cream felt too heavy and sat under makeup, or your summer gel felt refreshing for an hour and then left you reaching for moisturiser again by three in the afternoon, this cream was built for that exact gap.

It also sits well under makeup because it absorbs fully rather than leaving a film on the surface, and it's gentle enough for reactive skin thanks to the allantoin doing quiet work in the background.

Building it into a fuller routine

The cream stands on its own, that's how we designed it. But if your skin wants more hydration, or you're dealing with uneven tone alongside dryness, there are two easy ways to build on it.

Layer the Hyaluronic Acid 1% + Niacinamide Serum underneath, before the cream, if you want extra hydration along with some help evening out tone. Serums are formulated to sit closer to the skin, so applying it first and letting it absorb before the cream goes on means you get the benefit of both without either getting in the other's way.

And if your skin needs an occasional deeper reset, keep the Hyaluronic Acid + Collagen Face Mask on hand for once a week or so. It's clinically proven to increase skin hydration by 67% after a single use and keeps that hydration going for 48 hours, which makes it a good weekly boost alongside your daily cream rather than a replacement for it.

None of this is about adding steps for the sake of it. It's about having the right tool for what your skin actually needs on a given day, and a daily moisturiser that does the heavy lifting without asking anything extra of you.
